Wise Steps

At Wise Steps, we’re here to help you get past those hurdles that life throws in front of you, and get you over the finish line. We understand all of our customers are unique, so whether you want to focus on improving your wellbeing, seek full time employment or find a part time job, Wise Steps could be for you.

Wise Steps helps people in Tyne and Wear to change their lives through work. With funding from the National Lottery Community Fund and the European Social Fund, we’re here to provide you with one-to-one advice, training and support to help you make those first positive steps towards work.

 

Is Wise Steps for me?

At Wise Steps, we understand the importance of changing the way we look at life and taking on a positive attitude.

When you join us at Wise Steps, the first thing we’ll do is pair you up with your very own work coach. Your coach will be there to help you tackle all the hurdles that come your way in your work search journey, helping you build confidence, manage any money worries and achieve your goals.

Wise Steps will give you a range of opportunities to help you get ready for work; from volunteering and work experience to training and well-being events. You will also receive support during job search, training, volunteering and work experience, as well support once you’ve started a job.

The most important aspect of the Wise Steps programme is you. We’re here to work with you to help you move forward; we won’t push you further than you feel comfortable with. Our focus on customer wellbeing means that we promise to provide you with an experience that supports your needs.

Delivered in partnership

Wise Steps is delivered alongside an amazing group of partners, allowing us to provide you support across the Tyne & Wear area. Wherever you are in the region, there’ll be someone close by to give you a helping hand. Whether you need help to gain a qualification, improve your confidence through wellbeing activities or need access to counselling services, we’re here for you.

Am I eligible?

To be eligible for the Wise Steps programme, you must be:

  • aged 18 and over
  • legally resident in the UK
  • able to take paid employment in the European Union
  • unemployed, not available for work or not seeking work
  • experiencing multiple barriers towards getting a job
