Aman arrive in the UK from Italy and has been living in Newcastle with his family for the past 14 months. In February of last year he approached JET looking to access some support. After speaking with one of their advisors, Mojtaba Raesi, he joined the Wise Steps programme with the goal of returning to work.
Back in Italy, Aman had a successful career working within the aviation industry and expressed a desire to return to the sector in the UK. With that in mind, Mojtaba referred him to the Launch Group for Aviation course. Unfortunately, due to language and cultural barriers he was not able to finish the qualification.
Undeterred, Aman worked with the JET team to figure out his next steps and what support he’d need to get to where he wanted to be. JET were able to provide him with food vouchers and refer him to their ICT course delivered with Your Homes Newcastle. He also attended Wise Steps’ ESOL classes ran by Hina Fiaz in order to remove the language barrier issues he’d experienced previously and Mojtaba was able to secure him a council tax reduction for him and his family.
Working with the JET team, Aman arranged a weekly job search session and Mojtaba registered him with Solution Recruitment Agency and Zenith People Recruitment Agency. Eventually Zenith came in contract with him for a position at Country Style Food. Within a few days Aman had joined their team and was settling in to his new position.
Whilst he has yet to achieve his dream job in the aviation industry, Aman has made some huge steps in getting there. Congrats to Aman, JET and Your Homes Newcastle for all their fantastic work!
