Empowering Futures: How Our Digital Skills Service is Transforming Lives

In today’s increasingly digital world, having the skills and confidence to navigate technology is no longer optional – it’s essential. At the Wise Group, we’re committed to empowering individuals and breaking down barriers to opportunity, and our Digital Skills Service in partnership with CGI UK is a shining example of that.

From helping people enhance their employability to building confidence and well-being, our Digital Skills Service is changing lives in some of Glasgow’s most deprived communities. Here’s a look at the incredible progress we’ve made and the impact we’re creating:

1. Improving digital  skills

To date, 86% of customers report progression and improvements in their digital skills. This result highlights the effectiveness of the service in meeting a critical need. By equipping individuals with the tools to thrive in a digital society, we’re opening doors to opportunities that were once out of reach.

2. Removing barriers to employment

Among participants with employment-related digital skills needs, 76% have made measurable progress. Importantly, the impact extends beyond skills:
• 74% report enhanced wellbeing, self-esteem, and confidence.
• 71% report increased aspiration and motivation.
These changes are vital for building the resilience and drive necessary to transition into sustainable employment.

3. Supporting Glasgow’s most deprived communities

All participants in achieved at least one outcome tailored to their individual needs. Many of these participants come from households in the most deprived 20% of communities in Glasgow, where access to digital resources can be a challenge. This impact ensures no one is left behind in the journey toward inclusion and opportunity.

4. Building strong community connections

Collaboration is at the heart of our work. To date, we’ve partnered with over 21 community-based organisations across Glasgow. These partnerships enable us to reach those most in need, deliver tailored support, and build lasting pathways to digital inclusion and employability.

5. Delivering outstanding social value

The value of our work is not just social – it’s measurable. For every £1 invested in the service, £8 of social value has been generated, amounting to an impressive £999,280 in Social Return on Investment to date. This value reflects improvements in wellbeing, confidence, and preventative savings for society.

Empowering futures, one step at a time.

At the Wise Group, we believe everyone deserves a fair chance to succeed, regardless of where they start. These results reaffirm our commitment to improving lives, breaking down barriers, and driving positive change in the communities we serve.

As we look to the future, our focus remains on scaling this impact, deepening our partnerships, and ensuring that no one is excluded from the opportunities of a digital world. Together, we’re not just transforming skills—we’re transforming lives.
